Big difference. Im AA and have naturally coily hair. Silk is the better choice. Prevents breakage, less frizz, when moisturize my hair it actually keeps it hydrated throughout the night, and it doesnt make my head sweat. I used to use polyester but it kept messing up my hair.
I would go with a silk bonnet, there are expensive options yes but you do......
