Idk abt straight isekai, but SO many of them start w them as a child and grow up w the ml. I understand starting off as a kid, so you get a sense of familiarity and belonging to the world as you grow as an adult. BUT WHY DOES THE ML HAVE TO STICK AROUND THE WHOLE TIME??? Bro ur telling me you can just become sexually attracted to someone the moment they become legal? Like flipping a fucking switch? Clearly that’s not the case, cuz there are times when the mc gets charmed by the kid. It doesn’t matter that the younger one advances at the older first, as a GROWN adult, you can set clear boundaries. Like why can’t the ml show up once the both of them are adults? Or better yet, have them not isekai into a child’s body? A lot of these BL authors are just so fucked in the head to even think of plots like these.

Yk, when the mc goes back in time after being horrifyingly treated by ml, or the ml goes back in time to fix things with mc. I’ve read a couple bls like that…and I have mixed feelings about it. The plot is interesting, and it’s nice to see someone genuinely change for the better when given a 2nd chance…but it’s still icky. I can’t imagine being abused in every way possible, DYING, then go back in time and still love the guy and fix the issues before mans get all berserk again. Or as a ml, treating someone you "love" horribly, regret it, go back in time and STILL go after mc. Like if it were me, I’d feel like I’d b walking on thin ice all the time, afraid of getting them mad cuz u KNOW what they’re capable of. Or if I treated my love horribly, I wouldn’t go after them again if I went back in time. I’d stay far, FAR away from them.

Like tell me, honestly, would you be happy in bed w most of them? A man whose dick is built like a 12+ inch pole. A man who doesn’t listen to you when you want them to slow down/stop/take a break. A man who lowkey forces you into sleeping w them, and can never trust them if ur drunk. A man who doesn’t stop when you tell them it hurts. Do I need to list anything else to make my point? I feel like I need to kidnap these men and teach them how to actually PLEASURE their lover

Ok, here’s my long take on this topic:
I really don’t like r*pe or toxic possessiveness/manipulation between mcs when the genre is supposed to romance. However, here and there I’ll enjoy red/black flags when the genre is psychological(and written well). Example bls I’ve read to show y’all what I mean are: “Hwang Young's Misery”, “Yuwon Everlasting” and “Killing Stalking”.
Now, the reason why I don’t like red flags is because everyone(esp the author) is rooting for the mcs to end up together, and call that a good ending. I reaalllyy don’t like it when any type of abuse or violence isn’t being treated properly. It just comes off as lousy writing. This is why I like well written psychological stories, because it treats abuse as abuse, not as a “different kind of love”. Another thing I don’t like is thinking there’s room for redemption between the r*pist and the victim. Or the victim of sexual assault being anything but traumatized.
If you’re bored of fluff, and like the forcefulness in sex, why not have it be r*pe play? So without it being assault, it’s actually consensual role playing. What’s boring about that? If you like toxicity, why take away the seriousness and instead romanticize it?
Here’s what I’d like to see instead:
- a redemption story of a former abuser AFTER leaving the relationship to let the victim heal and move on.
- a victim w ptsd and all sorts of mental health issues healing and finding a green flag.
- have it so that the author isn’t shoving it to my face saying this is supposed to be a love story.
Anyways, that’s my personal take, but what’s yours?

I’m not a fan of romance/drama. That’s just so boring in my opinion. I much prefer horror/thriller, fantasy, sci-fi and supernatural. But then suddenly if the romance/drama has gay/lesbian shit, I’m all over it, even better if it’s a genre I usually like to consume.
It’s the exact same when reading manga/manwha/manhua. I used to read shoujo n shit like that, but I never liked it as much as BL/GL. Romance anime? Absolutely not. Get that out of my face lol. But all of a sudden it’s gay related, and somehow that’s my favourite shit. IT’S THE SAME WITH MUSIC BRO. If the song’s gay, I could never skip it. Like what??? It’s like if it’s gay, it makes everything better lmao.
Anyway, can anyone else relate? Also I should note, I am gay. That could explain everything I just said
