This isn't about me but a friend of mine (let's call her Tia) but I feel like I had to share this with y'all.

Tia's parents are extremely possessive of her. At first I didn't think much of it but as our friendship deepened and we got closer, I realized that their possessiveness is almost to the point of being called unhealthy and even psychotic. They wouldn't let her go out alone (we are 21) and she even got yelled one time for going to the bathroom without informing them. But surprisingly, she is ok with their unusual behavior so I decided to bring it up to her one day. She said to me that she doesn't blame them and there's a reason why her parents are so overprotective.

So back when Tia was 5, her Mom and her Aunt (Tia's Mom's sister) gave birth at the same time. Her Aunt had some complications during pregnancy so the baby ended up dying a few hours later. Her Aunt was absolutely devastated so in order to comfort her, Tia's Mom put her newborn daughter in her arms and said that she can come see the baby whenever she wants to. A few minutes later, the baby was nowhere to be found and they figured out that Tia's Aunt and Uncle has ran away with the baby and cut off all contact with them. They tried contacting them for years, begging them to give their daughter back but couldn't reach out to them.

Fast forward to 16 years later Tia's sister, now a highschool student, goes to one of the best schools in the country and she is being raised with utmost love and affection by her kidnappers, aka Tia's Uncle and Aunt. They raised her as their own daughter and spoils her rotten. Tia says that her Mom still cries herself to sleep at night and couldn't bring herself to forgive her own sister for taking her baby away but she is grateful for the way her daughter is being treated. This incident traumatized her so much that she doesn't ever let Tia - her only remaining daughter- out of her sight.

So what do you all think? Should she ever forgive them? Let me know if you too have any messed up issues in your family.
