I mean, sure, it's not a good representation, but it helps people get used to queer culture. It's super fantasized, but it made gay relationships seem more normal to a straight guy like me. I actually stumbled upon it on accident in 8th grade and was oddly intrigued. I don't like shota yaoi, and rape definitely isn't OK in real life, but with the q...... reply
Honestly, most people who read yaoi are too young to read it. I started when I was 13 since a friend recommend Killing Stalking to me. At the time, I was super into shoujo. I was surprised at first at sexual scenes, but now I'm pretty numb to them unless theirs toys or ropes involved lol. I do like a pure yaoi too though like Caramel Honey.

But like, I'm a trans guy, but I don't really care about the "it's fiction, it doesn't matter" thing. In fact, I'm the one who says that often. If you got a problem with Yaoi/Yuri rape, it's whatever. Just don't read the comics then. Yaoi, yuri, and hentai are just pornography anyway. 2 reply
I'd like to answer this from my straight fundashi point of view.
1) That is probably because they see pleasure and want to imitate it. It looks like it feels good, so they might want to try it that way.
2) They aren't only looked down upon in yaoi. You see it in every genre. I'd say yaoi has that the least.
3) They probably like the seme/uke dyn...... reply
