I feel it depends on a case-by-case basis; it doesn't appeal to me on everyone. It really suite some, but not so much others in my opinion.
That picture of Nie Li in TDG (amazing manga/LN!) though~ That's a good one! Nice product placement on the shoes, too ;)

Unfortunately, a direct indication from him would be the only way to properly tell. Do note that direct is the operative word here.
As for 'acting straight', you've lost me there. With everyone I know, there aren't any particular behavioural traits exclusively common to the straight people; who we like isn't something distinguishable by our persona......

Most of all, I'd want to see the story of the main couple from Bokurani Matsuwaru (chapters 1, 5 and 6), closely followed by Kuchizuke Wa Niji No Ue De.
I'd totally second the motions for Slow Starter and Rutta to Kodama to be anime as well ^_^
I guess most of these are more shounen ai than yaoi though...
