I think that both sides just need to hakuna their tatas. I read a lot of yaoi and yuri but when I see a homosexual couple in real life I’m not attracted to them nor do I ship real men or women with people of the same sex, or with the opposite sex for that matter.

I just read yaoi because my sex repulsed ace ass can’t stomach anything sexual with my gender in it. I still prefer shoujo ai, shounen ai and normal shoujo though.
