Age matters if it includes a minor, they are vulnerable to the mind of an adult, even teens are vulnerable, so yap, age matter in that aspect. Your parent´s reaction could be because they´re rushing you into having a partner, but that's a pretty toxic attitude. You don't have to prove anything to anyone, and with your story, I really feel that it's just a not only toxic but also homophobic attitude on their part. reply
Hi! I´m 24 :D so... there´s a long list... but, well, I´ll give the advice that would have helped me if somebody had told me when I was maybe 18.
Don't plan so much because everything doesn't work out the way you want.
Take care of yourself first and stay away from toxic people.
Move out of your parents' house as soon as possible!!!!
