I mean there is a lot yaoi like that, especially old ones but its not that difficult to find bl that doesn't have tropes like that. You'll just have to find it. I mean you can just read shounen ai I guess. As for gl, maybe it will become a better genre like bl has, slowly but steadily moved towards better stories and better representations of male/......
