Hi, I'm a member of three foreign language learning group chats on LINE (main language is English but we try to speak in the other languages as we are able and give one another encouragement). I moderate the Japanese and Mandarin Chinese ones, and am just a member of the third for Korean. I want to know if anyone is interested in joining one or more of the groups? I know it's hard learning a foreign language by yourself so we pool resources and tips. I currently have a MEGA file sharing service set up to share Japanese resources like Genki textbooks. Lately we've been sharing a live study room with cameras on Gooroomee, a Korean service (of course that's optional). Since I also study Spanish, I was wondering if anyone out there would be instead or also interested in a Spanish learning group chat on LINE? Caveat: these groups are devoted to learning languages and we don't discuss yaoi etc, though. I am a member of a couple yaoi groups if you want me to give you info on those lmao. I like buying otaku type merch but I don't exactly collect them. My biggest haul of merch is from the AoT fandom, with all sorts of merch types like t-shirts, drink coasters stylized with the 4 shields, keychains, chibi titans (titans are adorable!), stickers, you name it. My fave merch is a one-of-a-kind coffee mug from Etsy which is stylized after the original Starbucks green and white logo. The main figure is a badass Mikasa and the logo says "Attack on Titan Coffee" instead of "Starbucks Coffee" lmao. If I buy merch, I order them from a variety of places like Redbubble, Etsy, Amazon, Ebay, and AliExpress.

Hi there, I have previously posted about this but since we have a new feature I'd like to ask the question again. Is there anyone interested in learning Japanese or is in the process of teaching themselves Japanese? I moderate a group chat on the LINE app and we currently have 173 members. I moderate a group chat on the LINE app for people interested in learning Mandarin. I was wondering if anyone wanted to join? We have things like a "word of the day", links to free resources online, chat in Mandarin as much as we're able, etc. We used to have classes as well using Discord but that stopped because the main teacher became busy. I might be able to get a different teacher if there is enough interest generated.

I post a "word of the day" in Notes on a daily basis with a vocabulary word, pronunciation (Romanization), and use in an example sentence. We post links on free Korean resources on the web. We also share files for Korean resources using the cloud. Ideally, I'd like to recruit someone to act as a teacher for classes as well but so far I haven't found a suitable person. As far as becoming a member, we welcome any level learner, from complete newbs to fluent speakers.

I am a moderator of a LINE group chat for people interested in learning French or those already fluent in French. Is anyone interested in joining? In the future, I'd like to recruit someone to act as a teacher for classes but so far I haven't found a suitable person. As far as becoming a member, we welcome any level learner, from those completely new to learning the language to fluent speakers. Mostly, the language spoken in the group chat is French but the members also speak English sometimes. Oftentimes people will ask homework questions and receive replies from those native to France or French-speaking countries.

Hi! I run a Japanese group chat on LINE and our teacher has left us pretty abruptly...we need someone to replace that person if possible. The teacher is responsible for teaching a beginner class and an intermediate class for an hour each, one day a week but if they can't make it it's fine to reschedule too. Previously due to the limitations of the teacher's computer, we could only do a voice chat style teaching lesson but if the person who next volunteers is capable of it, we could do it on Discord, Zoom, or LINE itself as a shared screen video feed. We are currently discussing the possibility of remuneration for a teacher and have not come to a conclusion yet. Many of the students are minors without jobs and can't afford to pay for lessons.
As a teacher, you don't need a professional qualification, just the desire to share your knowledge of Japanese, and a knowledge of Japanese around the N2 level or so. Although that's not a hard and fast rule either. The only rules we have on the group chat are that we are respectful of each other and don't post explicit stuff like yaoi, yuri, hentai etc because the focus is on learning and not yaoi, yuri or hentai.
