What's a trope you see people trash and you recognize it might be a little weird/not for everyone but you still kinda love it?

Like I'm looking at a cover thinking "ah that looks cute", click on it aaaaand they're stepbrothers. Or stepfather and stepson like that fuckass thing on the frontpage oh god can it disappear already. And yes, adoptive parent stuff counts too.
