I'm not attracted to women but I sometimes read yuri because the authors always put a lot of care into writing the female characters whereas in a lot of other genres I frequent (yaoi and shonen) they get relegated to set dressing   reply

I can read extremely mindless BL just because I find the guys attractive but can't do the same for yuri I barely read GL, but every time I do I find myself reading for the story and themes.
