Yes, because it's not for promotion but for allowing an additional element to telling a story. Drug addiction, murder, infidelity, child abuse, etc. - there are all these horrible things that make-up some good stories. I don't want to say I don't get the hype but I read Ten Count when it was still around 5-10 chapters and I can't bring myself to like it. I mean, there are mangas you can't really say you like much but there are times you just crave reading mangas along those types and after you read them there's some spark of satisfaction. It's hard to answer why manga artists make characters that do these simply based on the idea of the character sleeping with other people. The reason can be very different based on the circumstances the artists put these characters in and on what light they show them.
