I personally am not a fan of the tgcf art style. You know that watery-androgenous appearance? I don't like it... in manga. I don't mind it as much in fanart. All that basically means, is I don't like the character designs that tend to pop out of that style, rather than the style itself.
What about you?

The first manga I read was Death Note and L was godly until he decided to involuntarily leave the series.

Who are your favourite JP VAs?
I like Akira Ishida and Jun Fukuyama because 1) memes 2) they voice a lot of my favourite characters (Himatari, Akise, Dostoevsky, Luocha -- lelouch, shinra, watanuki, grell, tanabe, yata, ango, ichimatsu, koro-sensei, LOGOS)

What character, who is clearly a red flag and someone you would not interact with irl, do you like?
Mine is... too many of them lol, but I guess Fyodor Dostoevsky from Bungo Stray Dogs takes the cake...
(trying to stop the stupid religious posts on this site, sir/ma'am whoever you are, duck off)

It could be because it's illegal, weird, or you just don't like it very much. We've had two questions about ships we like, I want to know what ships you all hate. Because I hate a lot of them. A lot of them.
I personally really hate soukoku, 60% comes from my hate for Chuuya the other 10% comes from just how much I've come to dislike Dazai... and the remaining 30% is something that'll take up an entire hour to type out but bottles down to they-are-not-compatible-long-term-at-all-unless-you-ooc-them.

I don't get it. Or the tiddies stuff. Especially the tiddies stuff. I'm sorry, but the attractive force of manboobs is something I don't get at all either.
I can get why people like the romance and like the plot aspect and I can get that people are horny... but there are people who just... like reading it... Like they like it.
┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
It confuses me.

Your top three favourite characters.
1. kidnap and starve them to death
2. rape them (or find someone to do it idrc)
3. eat their eyes and kill them (you have to do it)
pick one for each
I'm tired of asking everyone for recommendations of the same old manga every day. And of everyone asking the same questions every week. Where did my weekly mangago drama go? I have no life.
Anyway, watching some of you torture yourself over this will make me mildly less bored.

I'll go first to make this fair
1. Dostoevsky (from BSD)
2. Luocha (from HSR)
3. Reborn (from KHR)

Do you prefer a literal translation or a cultural translation?
If you don't know what this means think about it like this. A literal translation treats the OG text as god and will adhere exactly to what it is saying, if there isn't an exact translation, then they will translate it to the next best thing that can replicate it. However, this also means that unless you are familiar with that culture, there might be discrepancies in tone.
A cultural translation will translate a text based on its meaning and tone. This means that they will try to replicate the text they are translating in the culture they are translating to. So, if someone is speaking 'rudely' in Japanese, it might just sound like normal speak in English, so a cultural translation will probably try to add in things like swear words.
Most of what you all probably read are actually cultural translations, literal translations are for works that actually have some level of complexity in their writing to warrant it.
I'm just curious because the translators of Slow Damage got crap for doing a cultural translation lmao.
If you need an example, omae (お前) is considered to be really informal, but it directly translates to you. You would usually address someone by their name... A literal translation will just say 'you', but a cultural might say, 'bro' or something depending on the context. (您 versus 你 in cn too).
so which one do you prefer?

I have the raws of hashihime of the old book town up to chapter 8.
But I don't know how to upload raws...
Can someone tell me how to upload the raws? When I go to upload chapter there isn't an option to say that the chapters are the raws.
They are also the official ones too haha...

What's a type of character (or a specific character) that you like in fiction, but when you imagine yourself meeting them, you think you'd really dislike them?
Personally, I really like manipulative characters (fyodor dostoevsky), characters that are said to 'read' people (imayoshi shoichi), or two-faced characters (idk like Mikado Ryuugamine) - but if I met people like them in irl I'd stay away for good reasons.

I was reading one on KHR that was like 97 chapters (I only read it because of that hehehe and I read all of it... last night... aha... I skipped the weird ones though...) and it ended up being a collection of works really. Some of them were actually pretty interesting (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ A lot of them were pretty repetitive ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍. Maybe a quarter was smut ┗( T﹏T )┛
Anyway, there were a few where the art looked exactly the same as the original manga, but also some that looked a little different. Personally, I think that it depended on what they were talking about. Some were about TYL KHR characters during uh a specific time uh set (... no spoilers?) and the anime and manga never really released what adult Tsunayoshi looked like ( ╥﹏╥ I'm still mad about that, man...) and so these future doujinshis would uh extrapolate.
Honestly, he looked like Firo Prochainezo from Baccono! in most of them tbh...
But! There was one where he had long hair and honestly, even though the artstyle was different I thought it was pretty cool. Most of the doujinshis had pretty similar art, and there was honestly only a few that were really really~ similar to the original art. But I was just curious because sometimes they would make Tsunayoshi look 10 (/TДT)/ (honestly kind of weird) or excessively cuter... which was also kind of weird...
"how can someone become more cute as they become more stupid" is specifically what I remember Mukuro saying (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ He's right lol.
So... I'm just curious as to whether people like doujinshis with wildly different artstyles and interpretations or if they like them uh close to home (?)?
