could be great characters stuck in a shitty series or characters that grew on you but you're just not into the type of series they're in.
for me it's yuuji kazami from grisaia. he's cool, competent, and has a sense of humor. too bad i hate ecchi harem which is what his story is about.

I feel like this site is heavily dominated by korean manhwas now. Do you guys still read mangas (even non bl)? Why is it not as popular as korean manhwas here? I remember when at least some manga titles were equally very popular here like finder series, yarichin bitch club, koisuru boukun, megumi tsumugi, etc. But now there's only like one or two mangas that only shows up for a couple of days on the front page. Even on the feeds section i see more people talk about manhwas than mangas. Why is that?

the best is madhouse for me, from the eccentric way they elevated death note to the crazy good animations they're able to make like one punch man s1, this studio is just legendary.
while the worst is mappa, i don't even need to elaborate on this one.

So there's a new AI now where it can generate music that sounds similar to human made music with only some prompt inputs. I just think it'd be fun to play around with it and see how far some of your creativity can go

here's some example i found:

Why do authors kept making the side ml, who's obviously going to lose, so much better than the main ml. It hurts seeing the mc kept picking the toxic ml that keeps hurting/abusing him one way or another than the side guy who treated him much better. (God i'm starting to sound like one of those "nice guys" incels, but you know what i'm talking about). Though some ml does treat the mc nicely, the author still find ways to make a side character that outshines him. Like the black haired guy from unripened expression, sure the main ml is not bad, but the black haired one was so much better, he shared the same pain as the mc, has better dynamic, and was the one who stayed by his side and supported him when he was at his worst, but the mc still turned him down half assedly. Why? What's the point of making such a good character just to use him as some sort of leverage or plot tool for the mc's relationship with the main ml. God it's so frustrating to the point i started to ship the mc with girls even though i like bl better, like the mc from kiss me liar, the ml was so bad i started shipping him with emma, a girl who had a crush on him and treated him way better and actually tried to take care of him. Ugh fuck sorry for the rant, i'm just really fucking pissed rn

Is it just me or does it feel like wsj isn't as good as it used to be. I tried reading the newer release like yozakura, elusive samurai, witch watch, etc. But it just doesn't hit the same anymore. I remember liking gintama, haikyuu, knb, bnha (pre internship arc), hunter2, assclass, etc. But i barely recognize any new title from them now. What the hell happened to them

So out of curiosity, i was checking this website's analytics and found out the gender distribution was 53% male and 46% female. It could be innaccuracy from the website i'm using (similarweb). though if it were true, i don't mind, but it was pretty unexpected since i was assuming there would mostly be fujoshis here by a landslide. So now just checking out of curiosity, what gender are you, if you don't mind me asking? I know a similar question was asked before but i figured there's a lot of newcomers now like myself so a new question could make it easier to see about the current people using this site. I myself am a girl and pretty much your typical fujo.

Do you believe in the dead internet theory? So, recently there's a comment on a subreddit called r/nostupidquestions calling out how the posts on the front page was a repost from 4 years ago. The posts, comments, everything are all the exact same. They check the accounts and it was accounts that's created only a few days ago since the posts. Not only reddit though, you can see this stuff happening on other sites/apps too, for example all the samey/bot posts you see on popular youtube videos, especially music videos, or people on twitter sometimes saying the exact same thing or posts on twitter suddenly gaining tens to hundreds of views just seconds after posting, etc. All of this ties down to a theory called "the dead internet theory" that asserts that the Internet now consists mainly of bot activity and automatically generated content that is manipulated by algorithmic curation, marginalizing organic human activity (wikipedia). Especially now with the advancement of ai, they could just deploy bots that can mimic human replies almost flawlessly. So, think about it, whenever you make a comment or posts somewhere, there's a chance you could be replying or seeing replies from absolutely nobody but just a string of algorithms. You're in an empty space just talking to curated responses. Isn't that creepy? But the big question is, if the theory was true then....where did everybody go? Surely, i'm not the only one using the internet....right?
