I agree with you, and tbh I suspect that a lot of those stories are written (and read) by people who see rape and "I can't stop myself" as a sign of attraction ("I am so attracted to you/I want you so much, I can't hold myself back"), rather than an assault that violates a person's right to safety and autonomy. I started teaching full-time at a new (new to me, not actually new as a place) university and the amount of cheating the faculty does on their spouses is insane. At this point it's easier to count how many people AREN'T cheating than how many people are.   2 reply

I like a lot of variety, so hotel breakfasts are the best: some scrambled eggs and toast, slices of watermelon, honeydew & pineapple, a latte, water, and orange juice, and if available either grapes or berries. It depends, if the main purpose is to chat and exchange news, then we meet up for coffee or tea at a nice café. If we just want a usual hangout without anything specific to talk about, we tend to go bouldering, swimming, or just hiking if the weather is ok.   1 reply
