Consent and Competency- along with general care for their partner are more apparent in BL as compared to many het romance manga. I don't see nearly as many r*pe scenes where the lead is gaslighted into thinking the behavior of the male lead is okay. There are some, but not nearly as many and I can avoid a lot of them by just reading the first chapt......
