I don’t know the age of your daughter, but did you try asking her for what she wants? If that isn’t an option, or you want it to be a surprise, then maybe go for something simple. Start with choosing a colour palette, like pastels or silver+her favourite colour. Or you could make it character themed, if she has a favourite show or movie.   1 reply

If you don’t want to change your style too much—then, when it comes to depicting age, adding more lines on the face (where lines should be) typically makes characters look older by default. As someone who also pertains an interest to those of a scruffy nature, I am sorry to say, there simply are not a lot. The best you can get is neat hair but with a bit of a beard. As far as I know—though I’m in no way a professional—pain in dreams is considered rare and an indication of poor mental health.
