if there was no holocaust (or if the holocaust didn't include white victims)/ww2 was less brutal, the colonizers would still keep their colonies and commit genocides there regularly.
It was only the war destroying Europe and shifting the power balance to the US and USSR that forced the colonizers to start withdrawing.
