i think its because of demographics on who mostly reads manga. i feel like its seen as a teen/young adult thing so all of the characters are teens to young adults and anyone older takes a guardian role. also from my experience a lot of younger people consider late 20's older, anything over 35 is middle age, and over 50 is ancient senior citizen lol   reply

Originally, no, the word Otaku was a bad term for someone who is basically a hermit who lives and breathes things like electronics, comics, movies, anime, etc. In Japan the word still has a bad connotation and most people will frown upon you if you describe yourself as an otaku. I know in the west now otaku usually just means a big anime fan.   reply

a plastic butterfly clip. it was one of the red-ish clear plastic clips that looked almost like candy and my 5 year old brain was like 'yep that looks so appetizing' so i put it in my mouth and swallowed it on accident. my mom spanked me because it was kinda big and definitely a choking hazard lol   reply

this is actually a great time to bring up that this might be a possibility in the U.S soon. theres a bill theyre trying to pass that makes it so the government can block certain things online for 'kids safety' but its honestly a threat to anything that the government deems dangerous (fanfics, webtoons, manga, social media, anime sites, etc.)   reply
