I tend to like stuff that's vaguely melancholic/nostalgic. Sort of bittersweet but with a happy ending, subtle feelings, stuff like that. I like a lot of friends to lovers, slow burn stuff for this reason. Sometimes I go for soul crushing angst but only if it has a happy ending.   reply

I mean a lot of otherwise well adjusted people have intrusive thoughts that are often violent/weird/what have you. It doesn't necessarily make them bad people. I prefer to give rather than receive but I also like being told what to do. I don't tend to initiate physical contact but I like when other people are physically affectionate with me (if you've ever had a friend put your arm around their shoulders or lean on you when you're just chillin, that kinda stuff) So I guess submissive seme? Depends on my mood but probably both. Yuri can get pretty same-y (all girls schools, very little plot other than the romance; sometimes I'm into that, sometimes I'm not) but yaoi has its own tropes that you start to get tired of when you've read too much of it.   reply

I have to agree with most of these except for the LA LA LAND of gay. It's actually really common for LGBTQ+ people to have a circle of friends who are also LGBTQ+ We travel in packs, I guess.
