As someone who reads almost all genres including straight romance and action and BL. But predominantly reads BL, for me I think it’s just being unable to see guy on guy romance irl. I had friends like that too. And I stopped being friends with them. If they have something negative to say about every other person they have something negative to say about you too :). Yea they are, equality should be everywhere! But seriously I feel like a lot of this stems from religion (I’m speaking as an atheist but I’m not saying that religion is an inherently bad thing just questionable values). It’s seen in many religions that women must remain pure for the man via keeping their virginity till marriage and other ways......   reply
