The other day I had to go the bookstore to pick up a gift for someone. I passed by the manga section on the way and noticed that the amount of yaoi / shounen ai manga increased this year. There are some popular titles like Given, Love Stage, Ten Count and Caste Heaven. However there are some obscure ones that I never expected to see such as Shangri La Bird, Coyote, Escape Journey and 10 Dance. I checked their website afterwards and found more series that were available to order.

So we all know that Netflix original shows can be a huge hit or miss. This time, Netflix posted a trailer of their new show called "Q-Force". Essentially it's an animated series about LGBTQ+ secret agents. The premise doesn't seem too bad at first glance until you watch the trailer. Personally, I found it horrible due to how many stereotypes are being presented. I would like to know your opinion on it, since there is a divide over what is considered good and bad representation.

While I absolutely agree that child birth is excruciating in terms of pain, it doesn't mean that getting kicked in the balls doesn't hurt at all. Not only is the pain severe, the risks are too. The same also goes for menstrual cycles.
All three of these issues have short term consequences and long term consequences. Some events of child birth and complications of physical contact with testicles (like kicking) can lead to death.
I think it is optimal to respond to a question while being informed on the topic. This also applies to topics commonly discussed on Mangago such as LGBTQ+, consent, gender issues, pornography, BDSM, cultures around the world and more.
Just to be clear, this is not supposed to be an attack on any particular users, nor is it on everyone on this platform, because I can (in the near future) and did make the mistake of responding to questions while not being very informed on a topic. It's a common mistake that everyone makes.

Earlier, I saw someone post a question about controversial opinions. I was very interested in responding. However I wanted to do so on a separate page, because it concerns a problem that has been going on on this site for quite some time.
For the whole "yaoi/fujoshi debates" on this site, there isn't a side that wins it all. From what I have seen, many people on all sides just bicker and point fingers, but don't do anything productive. There are little to no proposed solutions and many of them aren't willing to come together to solve the problems.
I have seen numerous people getting bullied on these topics. When I mean bullied, I don't mean peacefully disagreeing with the other parties. What I mean is people shaming, insulting and sending death threats to the other parties. If you are going to state your opinion and do so in an aggressive way, then it just creates more tension instead of improving the situation.
I think that people should be more mindful of how they speak and to speak for themselves, since it is their opinion. I have seen many people state: "as a [fujoshi, gay, bi, or other group] in the sense that they represent all the group. However many people in said groups disagree with each other. So stating that you represent [insert group] is counterproductive and erasing other people's opinions.
Just to be super clear, I don't condone anyone who has done any wrongdoings (example: a person who says they ships guys (in real life) as a couple to satisfy their fantasies.) In addition this post is meant to call out all sides of the debate. I'm not saying there aren't any good people or that one side is completely in the wrong. I'm just wanted to point out that some people on all sides have received hateful comments and some the ones who said those hateful comments feel like they have the high ground and are immune to criticism. In my opinion, this is something that is not ok.
Just a reminder that all of the statements I have said on this post are my opinions and you have every right to disagree with them.

This is a genuine question from a bisexual person.
Context: I am a bisexual person and I have been for 5 years. I had help from some LGBTQ friends + people about my identity. I would say that I am rather skeptic about information on the Internet and social media, because of the rampant misinformation. Hence, I rely on the LGBTQ friends that I have. For years I have known that bisexuals means "being attracted to two genders." These were statements also said by all of my LGBTQ friends. Two weeks ago, I saw an Insta post that shows the difference between pansexual and bisexual. For bisexual, it said: "being attracted to two or more genders." Honestly, I don't understand and I need some help.
The prefix bi is a latin word that means "two, twice". Some words that have the bi as a prefix strictly mean "two." For example:
Biped=two feet, Biweekly=twice a week, bilingual= speaking two languages
Does that mean there are only two genders that exist? Of course not. That is why some people identify as pansexual. The prefix "pan" in pansexual is a greek word that means "all, of everything, involving all members".
A question of mine is that is there another word to describe people being attracted to numerous genders with certain exclusions? If there is a word for it, why do people apply that on bisexual? Is there a legitimate argument that can clarify this that is not "the prefix has changed overtime". I cannot understand why people would say this statement, because if the word "bi" (as in the prefix, not sexuality) has changed overtime, people would be saying that a bilingual person knows two or more languages or that biped has two or more feet. From an objective perspective, it doesn't make sense to change the meaning of the prefix for one word and not change the rest.
P.S This is not meant to hurt anyone. I am just really confused. Over the last couple of years, defining sexualities has become extremely confusing to the point that, for me, it is hard wether to know the information I consume is true or not. From the debate on gender dysphoria to gender fluidity, I am having a hard time catching up on all of it compared to people my age or younger.
