1/ "wE caN't hAve mALe fRiendShipS aNymoRe" is so jarring to me because 90% of media IS about male friendships. Maybe people like shipping M/M and W/W together often times in media where they are friends BECAUSE we have so few representation of LGBTQ+ media in main stream media in general. (Also, shipping has existed since the 60s, GenZ acting like......   2 reply

The dead lover trope. This one kinda makes me uncomfortable, as if the new person is a rebound, constantly. Which is why I never got around finishing Given.   1 reply

Unless and until it's about a criminal, telling other people to kill themselves is INSANE. You would think this is common sense, but looking at how it's a common insult nowadays, I think this is pretty much a controversial opinion to have.   2 reply

I don't like switching and people acting like switching is the ONLY "realistic" way gay couples have sex pisses me off. It's something I have have to go through in the queer community itself and it's so freaking annoying. Not just a BL community thing either, unfortunately. Some queer people are strictly bottom and strictly top, that isn't " unreal......   1 reply

I like it, as a queer person, the fantasy of being able to have biological children is pretty nice to me. It doesn't mean people are trying to "fix" anything, it's just a fantasy that I know isn't possible in real life. It's so weird to see people acting like queer people are a monolith and we have one opinion on everything, especially the top comm......   reply

Omegaverse is pretty nice because it shows that queer couples can have their bio kids. It's obviously not possible in reality, but it's simply that -- a nice fantasy. I don't think it's necessarily heteronormative to show queer couples having their own kids? Which is why surrogacy is one of the two options after adoption for queer couples to have k......   reply

Gore or self harm are THE worst by a whole ass mile. On a lighter note, straight dudes on this site who have bios that go like, "I ONLY read straight smut and GL and fujoshis are BAD and BL is BAD" and think it's a flex. Talk about the pot calling the cattle black, bitch.   reply

Who is gonna tell all these people that "twink" is a word that was originally reclaimed by gay men themselves and that it's not just meant to be a word to shit on feminine men? Some of these replies and the fact that they are getting upvotes is actually so fucked up. Not all gay men are oiled and beefy 24/7 and nor are we always into big, beefy m......   1 reply

1) The 'pure' and 'youthful' thing is much more popular WITHIN East Asia rather than internationally. That entire concept has existed before K-pop had hit the mainstream market. If anything, that concept seems to take a backseat whenever idols want to promote globally. So that is half correct. 2) Even if your intentions were not malicious and not ......   reply

Whenever there is not a clear main love interest in a love triangle. I never drop shit faster than that. What do you mean I can't know who the MC ends up with? Are you fucking with me?   reply

Love triangles are just a bad and shit way to drag stories. Authors include those just so that self-inserters can continue being indecisive and keep changing between their two hot love interests instead of just choosing one person and sticking with them. I am looking at you, love or hate and true beauty. Bitch, when I say I wanted to pluck out all ......   2 reply

I read BARA as well and they don't look like they are trying to be realistic, tbh. Many queer writers mostly just want to have fun with the fiction that they write, the goal doesn't always mean having a 1:1 accurate representation of the queer experience. Which I feel like most people always expect of queer writers. As someone who writes as well, ......   1 reply

Literally mentioned in my OP acknowledging the weird proportions some bottoms can have and clarified that I am not exactly arguing against that and yet people are trying to argue something completely different from my OP...
