Vante's answer page 2 (31)
Your post and experiences are all to which I can relate. No joke to the point that the answer to your latter questions are already explained by your post. Thanks for putting it in better words than I ever could have.

There wasn't much variety back then, but probably one of those badly written/drawn ones with the same type of characters I hate so much (like a really girly uke and possessive seme that always embarrasses the uke). I can't remember exactly, but it may have been Okane ga Nai. Although, I also remember reading a lot of Junjou Romantica since it was o......

I'm guessing genres?
For me, I'll stay away from:
Romance (few exceptions)
Mature and/or Smut (because hetero. adult themes fall under mature or smut but yaoi is different)
Shoujo Ai
Mecha
Gender Bender
Ecchi
Drama
Yuri
Bara
Harem
and so on. LUL. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
The rest of tags depend on my mood really. I'm sure it also depends for everyone.

I'm pretty most of us can agree with your opinion. It seems the only times I, and many others, like a hetero pairing is in which the female lead is a strong independent woman who has a backbone and doesn't act like the typical heroine we know. They stray from the "formula" or script so it's definitely refreshing. I also remember someone else's ques......

Yup. There're formulas and steps for relationships that I'm not really interested in nowadays. What really bugs me is if the characters act the same way: spineless, weak, too damn shy, but they speak out and catch the cool guy's or cool seme's attention once, and the guy or seme suddenly falls in love with the girl or uke. Bro, come on. Like, no pl......

Solo Leveling. The plot and art was really nice. I've read the LN before too so I know how cliche and predictable it can get, but wow I just couldn't read the manhwa anymore. At first, I thought it set itself apart from other OP-MC comics that are action-filled and mainly focused on the action rather than subplots, but it's just not my style in the......

-art that's not my style.
-abusive yaoi scenes (like getting beat up while being raped)
-slutty ukes, usually okay, but then they start talking ("begging for more") during the scene = please stfu
-absolutely hate when the seme or uke, usually the former in most yaois since he's like the popular one or something, sleeps around with others who aren't......

I had to get into yaoi slowly, but I've read some pretty awful and horrible stuff. The first yaois were tame with the romance and weird long limb art. My first really detailed yaoi was Kanpai! dj. Btw, would not recommend it to anyone underage...helllll not to anyone at all. It's been a 8 years, and I'm still traumatized.
