about falling inlove
I'm recently reading Open the door ( an esperguideverse ) The story isn't inherently outstanding since the seme comes off as toxic but out of the blue mc gets a flashback of a child who saved his life but probably is dead now. I have nothing against properly established stories of reunion where the MCs actually had something to do with each other but more often that not it's done lazily by authors just to have something like fate / they were meant to be together / oooh they knew each other as kids and is sloppily done without any prior context or not elaborated. It's really annoying me.
There's another trope where adult MCs are weirdly portrayed with child / baby mls ( even in art ) or one of them turning into a child.
Some examples:- from stories I don't remember
Mc remembering ml bought him a can of coke ( this is probably from omega complex or sm )
Mc buying icecream for ml in their childhood
Mc saving ml from dying
Mc giving candy to ml in their childhood
Mc passing by ml when they were kids
( My point is there is absolutely no significance to the relationship whether they knew each other in their childhood or not )

People who read straight manhwas / manhuas ( excluding mangas ), how do you manage to read them because I find most of them having the same power dynamics, toxicity, gender imbalance, gender roles, toxic tropes, harassment tropes, dumbing down and having one dimensional female characters, stereotypical feminine roles or "quirky" characters who have no personality of their own and are a mere monolith.
(May be TMI but the power imbalances give me body dysphoria and wish I was born in a different body because then life would be so so much easier and better without any stupid social expectations or a history of crime because I was born an "inferior" human being )
I have read some good ones, but they still utilise the same power imbalances which turned me and many other readers to bls - where atleast there aren't gender imbalances or gender roles and both the partners have free will. Not dismissing the glaring problem or so so many of the recent bl manhuas having rape / stockholm syndrome

Like why ? The story is almost ending then there's a random flashback where the mc gives the ml ice cream when they were kids....why do all couples have to have a past relation.
Most of the time it's done randomly without any significance to the story when even the MLS don't remember that. If you guys know what I'm talking about.
