Yeeeeah, I honestly have no idea. I just like it. Probably something similar to your reason, though, that I as a girl can't see myself in the situations I read. I can't stand reading the heterosexual versions of the yaoi I read, and I haven't been able to connect with yuri at all. Probably like 12 or 13. I didn't actually get into it until about 15. I was reading Naruto fanfic and found one tagged "yaoi", had no idea what yaoi meant, and boy was I startled when I found out. I...really don't remember...it might have been just shock...but the fact that I don't remember leads me to believe I may have just nonchalantly come across it unfazed...
