You accept them for who they are and use the pronouns they want to use. Be respectful and accept them for who they are, if you're not ok with, it's fine as long as your being respectful and mature about it.   reply

Whether or not you accept it, be respectful. Them coming out as trans doesnt change anything about what made you two be friends, so if you dont accept it, still respect their privacy and dont spread the word that theyre trans, the fact that you didnt know about that before you were friends shows that they are closeted. I'm positive that they'll be 100% willing to tell you how they're feeling and educate you on things that may have never even crossed your mind before. Let them know you support them. Respect their preferred pronouns. Don't bring up insensitive topics that could trigger their dysphoria. Treat them like you normally would otherwise. Can you accept that? or is it a concept that weirds you out? If you don't know how to feel, you can look up transphobia to see what makes people hesitant to accept it.
