South Asian community

I live in a third world country in south Asia, and though we were liberated from the Brits years ago our country is still extremely socially and economically backwards.
What stands out the most is how my country treats its women, we have the highest number of cases of rape and abuse and there's also a prevailing culture of misogyny and disrespect among Male students which are never rectified or corrected.
I want to leave this country asap but who would stand up for the people here?
P.s it's also three reason why I'm particularly obsessed with strong female MC's (normally ruthless or intelligent types but meh)
