Yo, I've been drawing this quarantine and I'm feeling great but this past few weeks, I'm losing motivation. I feel like I'm getting bad at this and I can't seem to draw what I really wanted. It feels like I'm back to zero where everything is a mess. I can't even draw a proper face even tho this is the easiest part for me. I've been saving a lot of reference but I keep messing it up. I want to go back in the zone again, what did you do when this happened?
Take sometime off fam. You're most likely experiencing burn out. Just take a breather from the amount you're drawing and spend most of the day on yourself. Do some light studies, nothing too difficult so that you retain mileage, but take most time to take care of yourself and when you feel ready you can resume and working at your best. reply
Motivation hits everyone differently, some shorter and some longer. You're most likely in a slump as to what you want to draw, discouraged at the fact that drawing is a bit difficult for you at the moment. I've been drawing for like 4 years consistently and this current year has probably been the best for me because I have been taking consistent breaks. Dont feel pressured to push yourself and you can stop if you're not feeling proud or in the mood to continue a drawing. The more you force yourself the more it turns into a chore rather than a hobby. ...... reply
