In my opinion, you should read the novel first. It's rather long (120-ish chapters) but it's an easy and super enjoyable read, plus the spicy chapters that don't appear in The Untamed hehe (there's a doujinshi published here that features said spicy chapters BUT I'd stay clear from it so as not to spoil the fun if you decide to read the novel ;) ) ......
