Do you know how plants prevent self-pollination from occurring, they make the pollen grain chemically incompatible with its stigma, so even if the pollen grain lands on the stigma, it won't be able to fertilise the plant egg cell. I assume something similar happens. Also, it's just fiction; I doubt the ones who created Omegaverse ever thought about......
