So, what I'm getting by your hot take is that you think by putting gay relationships in the forefront and hetero relationships "behind curtains" is somehow gonna make heterosexuals oppressed in the future? Is that what you're saying? Really? You think that by putting more LGBTQ+ representation the future generation will turn gayer? Look Miss Cooch......   6 reply

Hello, OP. I've read your question and most of the comments here. I'd like to tell you a little bit of my story. I'm 26 now, and I came out as gay 12 years ago when I was in middle school (before a lot of things changed including marriage equality in the US). Ever since I was a child, I would always fall in love with male characters I saw on TV. ......   4 reply

the problem with that way of thinking is a lot of children don't learn what being gay is until much later in life. I didn't know it was possible for two people of the same sex to like eachother until I was 13 and within a couple years I was openly identifying as a lesbian because I was able to recognise my feelings as something beyond friendship. Wow now you kinda know how we feel ! But no Netflix isn’t overdoing gay representation at all. If anything there’s still not enough that accurately portrays the amount of LGBT+ people are in the world. Maybe your inner circle is hetero and cisgender but there’s a lot of us out there. And pushing homosexuality into the minds of children? Have ......   3 reply

Unlike you, I don't feel like shows are shoving down gay relationships down my throat. But these shows help people normalize gay relationships. LGBTQ+ people just want equality and to be viewed as the norm. But kid shows that have gay relationships help kids realize their own sexuality but also helps kids understand LGBTQ+. There is nothing wrong w......   2 reply

You're getting a lot of hate because here's what you did. Imagine suddenly shouting your complaints about overexposed homosexual representations in a public place. Of course you are bound to offend someone. You can't just say something offensive where anyone can see and still expect people won't hate you and only those who understand you will talk ......   2 reply

Hey, the reason why you are seeing more of it is because yes, surprise, lgbtq+ people also need and want representation. She-Ra is about one of the only children's show who does this correctly, probably because Noelle Stevenson being the creator herself...is gay. So... You're uncomfortable, and I get that. But you have to keep in mind that just be......   2 reply
