Ive had 18-20+ yr old friends when I was 16 so I dont rlly think its weird, unless the gap is rlly big.
These are mostly from games tho, and u cant rlly tell if someone is a minor or not most of the time. We'd become friends first before asking about each other's age.
But if it's in an adult centered community like u said, then yea that's weird
