Dear filipinos, im an immigrant in your country so tell me why

I have a Filipino friend that says the n-word a lot but he doesn't mean it like a racist would. He isn't racist at all, it's just that he uses it in the same manner one would use "shit" or "fuck" just cos it's a typical american swear and he wants to "sound" american. Generally speaking, "Negros" these days usually refers to people living in Negros Occidental or Negros Oriental. It's just like how we refer to people from Cebu as Cebuanos, from Davao as Davaoeños, or from Pangasinan as Pangasinense. It's frustrating but it's everywhere. Some people are ignorant on purpose, like they have the knowledge and are well connected with the ways of the world but still use it because they want to be edgy and dark. N-word as in the one that ends with an A or the one that ends with RO? I'm filipino-canadian and my parents and relatives say the RO one in a colorist type of way. Still has the same origin as any variation of the n word, but ig used differently??
