degenerate needs advice
apologies kind of a rant, js need advice.
I'm wondering how many people are in the same situation as me and also how are they able to get out of it. I've been neglecting my education since the 7th grade and I was pulled back a grade last year. I can count on my fingers how many times I've been to school since it started. The only thing I've been kind of still learning as of classes outside school are my first language and English. I skip them often though. I'm 17 and was expected to graduate school this year. I haven't picked any subjects that I'd like to focus on in the future. Nor do I have any interest to go to university or college. I don't get too much pressure from family about this, but i can't depend on them. I go to therapy once a week or twice a month and take antidepressants. I've tried a couple of times to pick up and seriously get into subjects that will help me later on, but I've dropped them all in less than a month. Should i even have hope anymore . Thanks

You're not alone in this, my best friend was the same. He stopped showing up in middle school and despite being enrolled throughout highschool, he only started coming back a bit in his senior year. School isn't for everyone! However, not having a h

What is was saying is not having a highschool diploma puts you at a great disadvantage to get employed and even to get promoted at entry-level "unskilled" labor. So I just recommend you eventually get your GED like my friend did! I'm not 100% sure about the process as I haven't done it myself, but it's a great option. But that's something that can wait a while, so no need to feel any rush to get it now. You can just set it as an "eventually" goal and focus on whatever you feel is best until then.
Also don't worry about college. You can go at any time in the future if it interests you later, or look into a trade school for a skill you're interested in. And the pressure society puts on people to get degrees is just crazy. You can be plenty successful without one. And besides, college really isn't something to go into if you're disinterested in studying because even "easier" majors have tons of classwork and a decent amount of exams.
Either way, everything will turn out fine. You don't have to follow the typical education path (or really any education path) to be happy. You're loved by your family and friends and that's all that really matters in the end :)
TLDR; get your GED eventually and you'll be fine!
If you arent motivated to go to school and study simply because you just have to, then do it because you'll have much better opportunities later on in life
of course! there's so much to life than school but i won't tell you school is not important. in some ways it can be fun if youre open to experiencing it. i know being 17 is a lot of pressure in the sense of you feel like you need to be something but you have some time to show up for yourself.
first step is to not call yourself a degenerate. find underlying issues why you feel disengaged and face it head on.
you're about to become an adult and a big part of it is to show up every day even if you're not at 100%, try finding something easy and do it for at least 3 months and explore. you can do this OP, life is waiting! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
