Im not saying ppl who detransitions are bad or im invalidating their experiences but what up with dudes telling me "ill regret it" cus i plan to get top surgery?? why that society is so happy when someone regrets themselves having sex change and then go tell every trans ppls out there "its just a phase"
it really depends on the person. there're a lot of folks who confuse puberty with gender dysmorphia. I know for sure that I hated my body in school and hated being a biological female and considered mammectomy for at least 5 years following middle school. but i later realised that it was not about gender and more about how i didnt like men staring ...... reply
Most detransitions are not because the person is not trans but due to outside bigotry, I'm pretty sure there's a statistic on this but sadly i forgot the document i will try to find it.

Because medical transition most likely won't fix what is wrong with you. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness that can be managed without surgical alterations to your body or the use of cross sex hormones. Examining the root cause of your dysphoria and developing methods to cope with it and ease it is a much better way to go than irreversibly surgi...... 2 reply

The regret rate for surgical gac is 1% while the regret for cis women augmenting their boobs is ~9%. Do they say the same thing to every cis woman that wants to get bigger boobs? hell no

most people who detransition arent not trans, most of them detransition because of lack of saftey, or their family is not supportive so they go back into the closet (im not sure if thats the right term for trans people) or they realise they identify with a diffrent gender identify: someone who was female at birth and identified as a guy realised th...... 1 reply
I'm not too sure but I think it's about being familiar with your body, some people feel dissociative with their own body after transitioning so I guess that's part of the reason they want to go back. But I say do what you want to do and don't mind the people who discourage you. It's your own body and you have the full autonomy to do what you do wit...... reply

I think their concern is that the action of transitioning is irreversable. And as someone said, people sometimes confuse gender dysphoria with puberty. 1 reply
