Am i weird for still having empathy?

You should start setting boundaries. Empathy is a good thing, but too much of it will have you taken advantage of over and over again, unless you out a stop to it. Don't feel bad for respecting yourself.   reply

In fact, it's a sign of emotional intelligence and understanding, HOWEVER it’s also important to set boundaries so that it doesn’t lead to self-neglect or excusing/enabling harmful behavior. Can't understand how people are like this. I'm mostly a forgive and forget person but the forget part is that I will literally cut off all contact. If someone does something to hurt me I will forgive them but also throw them out of my life asap without feeling bad about it.   1 reply

Not really, I'm a bit like that as well. But my compassion has its limits. I'm not going to feel bad for a rapist or a fascist who thinks certain cultures/genetics are superior. A lot of people think homeless people and drug addicts are worthless and dont deserve to eat because they'll appearently only spend their money on drugs. I dont excuse anyo......   reply
