Is it really that hard to write female characters in shonen
A little rant but, I get annoyed when I'm reading or watching a shounen and all of the male characters are like top-tier and well-written, then the female characters are barely surface level. Like, I know ppl r just gonna chalk it up to the genre it meant for boys or sum shit. But, is it that hard? Like, idk maybe I don't understand it cause I'm a girl, but how can you write one with these complex backstories and great character arcs and the other you struggling
? Especially if she's one of the MAIN CHARACTERS. Like, I just don't understand it, and if she does have an arc a guy is always involved! This isn't even exclusive to shounen, female characters in media that isn't specifically labelled as "for the male audience" are not good either. Read more about the "everyman" trope in films and literature, it's a character that is thoroughly relatable in situation and experiences, is often a middle class man. A woman can relate with male charact......
