i don't feel motivated to do anything i love art, crochet, minecraft, sewing... my whole existence was based off of my creativity and i feel so lost not that it's gone, i think once a grew up and people started to look at that ide of me like "it only has value if you make money" i just got hopeless because i don' think i have what it takes to make a job out of it i feel like i wasted my life on skills i can't turn into living money should i push through the feeling or quit?
its sucks that art isnt usually valued but i dont think quitting art altogether will make you feel better, in fact it will probably make you feel worse bc art is something you love. who is to say you cant sell your art on etsy or something or get a day job and do art as a hobby? learning these skills (which are super cool) is never a waste 1 reply
I really feel you. I love crochet, sewing, painting, drawing anything that has to do with creativity. But it really sucks when anyone i share this with they always talk about how i should sell my stuff. Like sure i could but it only reinforces the idea that my current hobby has no value if i dont sell it. But thats a terrible way to think. i think...... 1 reply
antidepressants and stimulants fixed this for me consider seeing a psychiatrist. aside from that- the social factor like a friend group that also does art helps with lack of motivation because you have people to show and talk about your interests with. i dont plan to make art a career but i still do a lot of it... its possible!! reply
