OK NOW THAT I GOT YOUR ATTENTION I NEED HELP BECAUSE HONESTLY I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL MY FRIEND ANYMORE SHE DOESNT LISTEN TO ANYTHING I TRY TO SAY BECAUSE SHE SAYS "I DONT UNDERSTAND" SO HELP ME UNDERSTAND PLEASE

So my friend F(17) lied about her age on this streaming app to this one person, she didn't say anything about her age but she said she was in college. The guy she lied to her age about is a cool guy, I honestly don't know much about him because I've only seen him once while they were on a collab stream but I guess he took an interest to her and has been also been acting sweet and flirty with her recently? So that's where the problem comes in. My friend talked to me about it yesterday and she was giddy and stuff but I raised up the concern that it's not good if he has a different perception of her age bc in the long run when he finds out he might get mad and she might feel heartbroken, because I really feel like his attitude is getting to her and they might enter a relationship sooner or later. But anyways. Yeah. If you have any experiences in lying about your age online to friends/partners please share them and what happened after they found out/you revealed it because I'm so stressed out for this girl I'm genuinely concerned because I've also seen things like this before and UGHHH I just don't want her to make the wrong decisions. Please help thank you. Feel free to give me advice to tell her too please, I really don't have any experiences regarding this so I'm pretty clueless and have a biased opinion on online relationships in general

Regardless of whether, as you say, he's just 18-19, a relationship should never be built on a lie in the first place. Not only is she underage which is putting him and her at risk, but she's also choosing to wait until it's "legal" believing that everything will work out when it hits that magic number. Lying about your age is not okay. I get she’s underaged and might not be the most mature, but she should understand right and wrong and the implications of such a decision. Tell her to be truthful about her age. If she decides to keep lying, if possible I’d try to tell the guy. He could get in serious trouble 1 reply

Your friend might be spending too much time in the pits of twitter because why is she worried about a 1-2 year age gap?? I don't even consider people 1-2 year older as seniors or talk to them formally lol. 17 and 18-19 years old date all the time without anyone batting an eye. She should come clean bc he's gonna figure it out at some point and wants he knows he'll most likely feel hurt as she lied to him, yes she'll be heart broken but so will he as he most likely trusted her, then againnI have never dealt with a situation like this so don't fully take me on. I'm sorry but if your friend won't listen to you then let her experience the consequence, you're not responsible for your friends actions, I can feel you because I also know someone who's 14 and dated a 17 yr old, I was weirded about it but I just shut my mouth, and low and behold they fought and broke up.
