So, today I had a manic episode and need to get tf out. I'm a grown adult, but I live in a culture where it's normal to live with your parents and they basically still keep you in a cage and are pretty overprotective.
I just booked the cheapest hostel, took an uber and now I'm just here. I have this impending sense of dread, since I didn't tell anyone I would leave home today. I just closed my door and left while everyone was out.
I feel like soon I'll get panicked calls from them. But I needed this break away from everyone and everything that I know.
I just hope you are safe. I can relate to this since in our culture it's also customary to live with parents even when you're already an adult (especially unmarried ppl). TBH I just want to go buy a land somewhere and build/buy a tiny house and live alone and far away from everyone. I don't have enough money yet, unfortunately. Also, at this point ...... 1 reply
Send a message to your parents just for them to know you’re safe and you’re not going back today, just tell them you feel like being by yourself for a while, and turn off your phone if they are too intense about it, some parents don’t understand that their children need privacy, space and to feel they have control of their own lives, I hope t...... reply
