Yea they are, equality should be everywhere!
But seriously I feel like a lot of this stems from religion (I’m speaking as an atheist but I’m not saying that religion is an inherently bad thing just questionable values). It’s seen in many religions that women must remain pure for the man via keeping their virginity till marriage and other ways......
