This is the first time I've ever painted/or used colour. I usually only draw in Black and White, so I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I'd like to know from any painters here if I did a good Job and what I could improve.
you could practice using heavier shadows (that's what I'm doing currently to improve my shit <3) like, decide on a light source, and add shadows where you see fit, don't forget the reflecting light (cool or warm lighting, depends) shadow from hair and cheekbones, it's just I typically keep in mind or try to loll. otherwise, looking pretty freaking good!! also, the eyes are not too big, just right dw!FIGHTING(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I dont really see it, could you explain further? Patches
it's just not normal face proportions. did you start your painting by proportioning the face, or did you start by drawing the eyes? often if you start eyes first they will end up too big for the face.
of course, it depends on your style. but since you were using what looked like traditional painting style/technique, that is what I was trying to comment about. if this was a manhua, maybe it would be different?

I start with the face first, then I use a slightly darker color where the facial features will be

╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ okay, maybe my analysis is wrong. but to me the proportions of the eyes to the forehead and chin seem off. keep doing your art though and good luck!

good shit dawg :3 looks like you're p good w form & proportion!! anatomy looks great :D for improvement i'd suggest making the shadows darker, & you can fill a layer with black and set it to saturation mode in order to check your values without hues getting in the way

Yeah I'm struggling with the shadows. When I try to make them darker it looks like shit. But I'll try again
yepp same but we gotta keep trying, once the drawing starts to become satisfactory, we'll have even more fun!!(≧∇≦)ノlesgoo
try adding more relatively saturated transition colors where the shadow meets the unshaded areas or having more saturated shadows
eyes are too large or rest of face is too small.

thanks man
The eyes seem off cuz they're not in line w the ears
you're probably right, I only added the ears as an afterthought. I didnt think about them at all
I think it'll look more proportionate if the ears were a bit higher up
