I just finished defending my thesis yesterday and i passed. The whole 6 months doing research and revise finally came to an end but oddly i feel empty. I was sure that i would feel great since it was so hard to work on it but after i finished it yesterday..... its just, nothing??? I was like, after i got back home from college i literally just feel empty and nothing. Its weird, i should feel accomplished but i feel empty instead... is it supposed to be like this????

I've actually felt the same thing when I was aiming for high grades and high honors. After I graduated as a high honor student, I felt empty. There was no excitement nor happiness. I think that's what you call burned out. You pushed yourself to accomplish something based on your expectation until when you reached that goal, but you only feel relieved that it ended and nothing else. It's completely normal to feel that way. I guess you should start focusing on rewarding yourself by doing things that you like now.ヾ(☆▽☆)

Hmm I think it’s an amazing accomplishment to have finished your thesis honestly. I mean I’m sure you spent countless hours working so hard on something and that it’s completed you accomplished something that took a big portion of your day. I think it’s ok to feel a bit empty but also take the win of doing something worthy.
