Any cinephiles here???

How do you find good movies to watch??, something under appreciated or indie. I'm tired of my self proclaimed cinephile friends recommending me the same shit that is actually not as "underrated" as they like to think. I'm looking for smthing straight from the trenches, a hidden gem.
Preferences: absolutely any genre from body horror to slice of life to erotica idgaf doesn't necessarily have to be in english, my brain prefers subtitles.
