It's rooted to misogyny in the first place. All the things you listed are negative misconceptions about women in general. Being emotional, being weak, the need for the character to be 'innocent'.
Because they take on the submissive part, they basically correlate that shit even tho the genders are different. What I knew through the years of reading......
