I hate the evil maid trope.
Many, many, maaaany transmigration story always have a maid who's a villain and she's usually characterized by being a thief, abusive to the mc and or "slutty", this trope anger me so much, i hate the "abusive to the rich mc whose literally a noble woman" the most, do people actually think these maids had any sorts of power in the house they worked in? They were the one getting abused not the other way around
and i'm going to be honest i don't give a fuck if the maid steals from those rich ass nobles.
I hate it so much when the maid is blamed for sleeping with a noble men and made out to be the slutty one or whatever, the power dynamic here is clear and the one in power isn't the maid who could literally loose her job if she doesn't accept the advances. I get it's all a fantasy and it's not meant to be realistic but the misogyny in these stories drive me up the wall.
So many of these stories act like the mc is owed servitude
why are "Fantasy" romance authors so afraid to actually make a good commentary on classism or be slightly nuanced
, hell they could even make a story about a disabled noble woman getting abused by their caretaker (who wouldn't be a fuckass maid) since sadly disabled people are mostly abused and killed by the people who are supposed to be taking care of them and it's not really talked about like at all but no we need badass scenes of the mc slapping impoverished women who work in literal servitude for pennies
.
This is my third rant in the last 24 hours i'm sorry y'all, i just like talking. You could say i'm that friend who's too woke
i never take any slut shaming allegations towards women seriously. you know it's always rooted in misogyny and completely overlook the possibility of the sexual abuse those women have suffered to be labeled as such.
the physical or emotional abuse they inflict on these MCs is not entirely unrealistic. given that those MCs are children or entirely......
