with honorifics id rather see them added to the translation with a little note that explains its context (like -kun/san/chan noona/oppa/ssi etc) instead of straight up deleting them or replacing them with a more westernized version that doesn't convey the same meaning. Cultural translations are probably better, otherwise it would occasionally be difficult to understand whats going on. Japanese is different from english. Theres many ways to address people by in japanese which would fly over the heads of foreigners reading a literal translation. This one example might seem insignificant, but a cultural translation ......   reply

I dont really have a preference between the two since i rarely ever notice, but the cultural translation would feel more authentic and follow what the author intended. Either way I dont mind   reply

Also, I can't edit it, but, usually you can't tell the difference between the two in most things because most manhwa and manga don't really have this level of writing. You will only see this come up with it comes to things where the author actually bothers to think about what they are writing literally, basically when the author adds in word choic......   reply
