why are gls not produced as much as bls?
I mostly read BLs but occasionally I read GLs too, and one thing I've noticed is that there isn't enough GLs produced in comparison to BLs, specifically content variety and quality wise.
There is such a wide variety of BLs when you think about it, if I had to name a few it'd be guideverse, horror, online gaming friends, mafia, traumatizing, older men, priest yaoi, transmigration, angels and demons etc etc the list goes on and I think there's something for everyone's interest but when it comes to GLs, i found that there are extremely less stories that fit in any of these categories.
Why is that so?
Some might say you need a lotta creativity to come up with the story and stuff, no, there's such a lack of GL content that even adapted BL plots can be seen as groundbreaking, just because they're exploring new territory.
There's such a big sea of opportunities but creators aren't taking advantage of it. I seriously can't understand why is that so. ┐(´ー`)┌
people are used to mid stories on the front pages and scan groups usually work on stories with repetitive tropes because they are popular regardless of how poorly written they are. i believe people have become comfortable with the same story archetypes that they never give anything different a chance. bl stories that are nuanced and multifaceted ra......
