If you feel guilty about pirating instead of complaining you could, I don’t know?? Stop doing it???? there’s so many alternatives to entertainment and hobbies that if they actually give a fuck about piracy they could at least spare one to stop pirating themselves
Well I dunno but people usually pirate media that they like. If you don’t like paying for your antidepressants, then just don’t take them. If your alcoholism is getting bad, just quit drinking. If marijuana becomes illegal where you live, then just stop smoking. If abortion is difficult, then just stop having sex. It’s a little bit of an emotionally weightier decision, and I can understand that a part of people lowkey doesn’t wanna drop it. So they talk to other people to either hype themselves up and quit, or to talk them out of it and keep going despite the consequences. There isn’t exactly an Alcoholics Anonymous for ex-pirates…

They are all more extreme than piracy, but I think it still gets my point across. It’s hard to get rid of things you like, especially without support from others.

sure but it doesn’t make you any less pathetic because there are legitimate alternatives and simple ways to change. If not being able to consume these specific paywall medias is the end of you then you clearly have more things to worry about than piracy. It’s the hypocrisy in it that makes it different from all the comparisons you gave, besides the obvious differences in extremity.
